Instrumental Music

At Lyndhurst Secondary College students have the opportunity to learn from large range of instruments and Voice. We encourage, motivate, inspire and guide our students to achieve their best through individual and ensemble-based learning.

Our team of professional musicians and industry professionals provide a wide range of experiences to launch students into further musical study, and on to professional and rewarding careers in the music industry. At the same time, all students involved in the program benefit from the social aspects of our extra-curricular program, and enhance their academic achievements.

Bands & Ensembles

The Instrumental Music Department at Lyndhurst Secondary College runs a contemporary and engaging ensemble and band program for all instrumental music students. Our Bands and Ensembles rehearse on a weekly basis and perform at school events and wider community events such as Assemblies, Concerts, Talent Shows, Lunchtime Performances and Battle of the Bands.

Ensembles at LSC:

  • Pasifika Choir
  • Modern Bands (Over 10 Bands)
  • Woodwind Ensemble
  • Guitar Ensemble

The Performing Arts department at Lyndhurst Secondary College are now offering students the opportunity to take individual and small group lessons. Through the studying of instrumental music and playing in ensembles, students learn countless lifelong skills to help them develop into intelligent, creative leaders. There are countless studies outlining the benefits of students learning a musical instrument- Improved academic results, stress relief, cognitive, emotional, and motor capabilities, building discipline, and even improved memory.

  • Complete the below online Enrolment Form
  • Once the Enrolment Form is received, the College will invoice your family through Compass. In Semester 1 2023, the cost is $50 per student.
