This course is designed to introduce students to a number of media used in producing art. It concentrates on creative thinking, design principles and arts practice theory. It explores drawing techniques including observational drawing, 2D studies, 3D studies and photo media. All teachers are practising artists.

The course is offered at Chisholm Frankston on Wednesdays 9:00am-4.30pm. 

Possible Career/Further Study Pathways

Completion of this course may lead to further study at TAFE or other tertiary institutes.

Work Placement Requirements

Determined in consultation with teacher & the RTO.

Special comments about delivery of the program

This is an entry level qualification for the arts and related industries. The focus is on digital arts including video, photography, digital imaging and drawing. Basic techniques, knowledge and skills are developed through the completion of a series of set tasks. Students develop their drawing skills and produce creative solutions as they experiment with the use of different materials and media.

For VCE students who complete this course, it is not scored but qualifies for a 3/4 sequence and an increment towards their ATAR. (10% of the lowest study score of the primary four studies).
