This course is designed to introduce students to the basic theory and practice of plumbing in order to prepare them to enter the plumbing industry or a plumbing and gas fitting apprenticeship.
This course is offered at Chisholm’s Berwick, Dandenong and Frankston campuses each Wednesday.
At the time of publication, next years VETiS Materials Charges have not been determined. A materials fee of $265 for the 1st year and 2nd year students will be required to be paid on course counselling day. Once materials fees are known, parents will either be reimbursed if overcharged or invoiced for outstanding fees.
Possible Career/Further Study Pathways
The VETiS Certificate II in Plumbing offers students full completion of the accredited pre-apprenticeship course specifically designed for people who want to enter the plumbing industry or to prepare for entry into a plumbing and gas fitting apprenticeship.
Work Placement Requirements
Work placement is highly recommended but not mandatory.
Special comments about delivery of the program
Equipment required: Pens, pencils, notebook.
Students must wear steel capped safety work boots and sleeveless blue overalls/blue workpants with shirt underneath (no singlets). Year 10 level of Maths and English is recommended.
For VCE students, this program provides a 3/4 Year 12 sequence. Students completing the certificate will be eligible for an increment towards their ATAR (10% of the lowest study score of the primary four studies).
