This course introduces students to the theories and practices necessary to enhance their future studies and employment prospects in the community services sector. This will include a language, literacy and numeracy assessment at a compulsory information session. Note: The course also covers sensitive areas and issues which may trigger learners who have experience of the issues covered. All students must be 16 years old on 1st February. This course has a compulsory work placement component.

Chisholm Berwick and Frankston on Wednesdays 9am-4pm.
Possible career/further study pathways
After further study, possible future employment outcomes include Social Worker, Aged Care Attendant, Welfare Worker, Youth Worker
Also provides a pathway to Certificate III/IV Community Services, various diplomas and advanced diplomas and various university degrees.

Special comments about the program
This is a two year program.
In order to be considered for the course at Chisholm, students must be a minimum of 16 years of age in January of the year of course commencement and must attend a compulsory information session for their applications to be accepted.
Pen and notebook required.
For VCE students, this course is not scored. It does qualify for a 3/4 sequence. Students MAY be eligible to gain an ATAR increment (10% of the lowest study score of the primary four studies) depending on the UOCs delivered by the TAFE provider.
