Students visit residents at Lifeview Willow Wood
The Lyndhurst Secondary College community spirit continues with a visit to Lifeview Willow Wood aged care facility in Cranbourne.
Students were warmly welcomed at Willow Wood on Monday 4th September.
There were smiles all round as the residents enthusiastically played traditional wooden rope quoits and cards with Year 7 students from Lyndhurst Secondary College. Some were happy to just sit, chat and enjoy the company of each other while one resident supported Aleiah (Lyndhurst student pictured) to play an old favourite on the piano whist she affectionately sang along.
The community project, which was initiated in July by Lyndhurst teacher Sue Carroll, is now well underway and students are really benefiting from these positive engagement activities.
Its heart-warming to see these beautiful interactions with young and older people as it shows a real appreciation of life, compassion and respect. One volunteer commented that it is wonderful to see the residents so active and engaged; it is lovely to watch.
Thank you to ALL residents and staff at Lifeview Willow Wood. Lyndhurst SC students will be returning for more fun and games later this month.
