This program is designed to introduce students to the sport, fitness and outdoor recreation sector. Students develop activity specific and organisational skills through the combination of theory, practice and field trip participation. (this course follows into Cert III for 2nd year).
This course is offered at Chisholm Berwick and Frankston on Wednesdays from 8.30am-12.30pm and 1-5pm.
Possible Career/Further Study Pathways
Possible employment outcomes include community activities assistant, customer service assistant, leisure assistant, recreation assistant.
Also provides a pathway to Certificate III in Fitness, Certificate IV in Fitness, Certificate IV in Guiding, Certificate IV in Outdoor Education, Diploma of Outdoor Recreation, Diploma of Sport Development, Diploma of Sport and Recreation Management.
Work Placement Requirements
80 hours recommended but not mandatory

This is a one year program.
Year 10 Maths and English required
Equipment/PPE: runners, PE clothes, sunscreen, hat.
For VCE students, this program contributes at Units 1 and 2 only and does not contribute to the ATAR
