Delivery and Cost Details
The course aims to provide access to various career pathways available in the music production industry and offers skill enhancement in recording and production, running live sound and mixing bands. Students will develop skills in music production technology including live sound production, acoustics, recording techniques, microphone use and production procedures; equipment application; working with others; setting up and disassembling audio equipment; recording and mixing a basic music demo; sound recordings and editing. This is a 2 year course.

At the time of publication, next year’s VETiS materials charges have not been determined. A materials fee of $242 for first and second year students will be required to be paid on course counselling day. Once materials fees are known, parents will either be reimbursed if overcharged or invoiced for outstanding fees.
Possible Career/Further Study Pathways
Cert IV in Sound Production (Studio Engineering + Live Sound), Diploma of Sound Production (Music Technology), Advanced Diploma of Sound Production (Studio Engineering + Live Sound), Bachelor of Music Industry. Students can also gain automatic entry into Melbourne Polytechnic courses after completing the Certificate III at NWS P-12 College.

Special comments about the program
There are no prerequisites for this course however you need a demonstrated understanding of music or the ability to play an instrument.
For VCE students, a study score is available (allowing students to count this subject in their primary four subjects for the purposes of ATAR calculation).
