Materials Charges and timetabling information for this course are TBC for 2019. This year, this course was offered at Chisholm Dandenong and Frankston on Wednesdays from 1pm-6pm. Due to timetabling this course is best suited to students enrolled in VCAL. This is a 2 year course.

At the time of publication, 2019 VETiS Materials Charges have not been determined. A materials fee of $110 will be required to be paid on course counselling day. Once materials fees are known, parents will either be reimbursed if overcharged or invoiced for outstanding fees.

Possible Career/Further Study Pathways

Completion of this course may lead to apprenticeship courses in Cabinet making, Wood machining, Upholstery and Furniture finishing (polishing).

Work Placement Requirements

Determined in consultation with teacher & the RTO.

Special comments about delivery of the program

The aims of the program are to provide students with the knowledge and skills to achieve units of competence that will enhance their employment prospects in the furnishing industry. Students are required to purchase the correct clothing and equipment.

For VCE students, a study score is available (allowing students to count this subject in their primary four subjects for the purposes of ATAR calculation). This study score can contribute directly to the primary four or as a fifth or sixth study.
