Engineering Studies (Mechanical) Certificate II

This scored VCE VET course is designed to introduce students to the theories and practices necessary to enhance their future studies and employment prospects in the engineering or engineering related industries. It introduces students to emerging technologies in engineering, and the design of new projects focuses on the knowledge and skills needed to move into the programming and robotics industry.

Proposed timetable: Dandenong Wed 8.30am – 12.30pm, Wed 1pm – 5pm

Frankston Wed 8.30am – 12.30pm, Wed 1pm – 5pm

At the time of publication, next year’s VETiS Materials Charges have not been determined. On course counselling day, a materials fee of $290 will be required for first and second year students.

Possible Career/Further Study Pathways

Provides entry level qualification for students wanting to find employment as an apprentice.

Also provides a pathway to Certificate IV Engineering or Diploma of Engineering Technology.

Work Placement Requirements

80 hours recommended but not mandatory

Year 10 Maths and English required

Equipment/PPE: Full overalls, Safety glasses, Safety work boots

For VCE students, a study score is available (allowing students to count this subject in their primary four subjects for the purposes of ATAR calculation).
